Kora
Here's the perfect opportunity to aquire a beautiful kora! The kora is the traditional harp/lute instrument of the Mande griot or jeli, the oral historian of the Malinke Empire. This professional quality kora was exquisitely hand crafted in Guinea, West Africa. It was made by inserting a long piece of hardwood through a calabash and stretching goat skin over the open front. Two smaller posts protrude from the top where the kora is held with both hands, while sitting, and the strings are played with both thumbs and forefingers. It is tuned by adjusting the leather ties along the post where the strings are attached.
One of a kind kora!
