Music CD- Bolokada Conde - Morowaya
ėMorowaya is the birthplace and the village Bolokada grew up in. Morowaya is located in the region of Sankaran, 65km from the nearest paved road. It is on the border of the forest region in Guinea and is surrounded by lush tropical landscape. The girls singing are all around fourteen years old. A harmony that is typical with percussion in rural villages of the Sankaran area in Guinea. When djembe and dununs are played for a celebration singing always accompanies them. It is a very important part of the music and is not often heard on djembe recordings. Thus, to give the listener a true representation of percussion in his village, Bolokada included these young girls from his village. The girls are all playing a calabash with shells attached' ņ from the inside cover.
